Part payment of penalty notices

People in temporary financial difficulties can now pay off their fines.
If your financial circumstances prevent you from paying a penalty notice in full, you may pay it off over two months, without incurring additional costs. You can make part payments as low as $20 towards a fine, provided the full payment is made by the due date on the penalty reminder notice.

You must pay a penalty notice in full within the time allowed. Failure to finalise a fine by the due date of the penalty reminder notice will result in normal enforcement of the outstanding balance, including additional costs.

Payments may be made in any of the ways described on penalty and penalty reminder notices and, from 6 August 2007 you also have the option of paying a penalty notice by BPAY. This means that fines can be paid over the phone or internet by people who do not have credit cards.
